Pharmacy Software (Kroll) Course Description: This course will help students learn the basic and advanced skills of industry-standard pharmacy software system Kroll. The pharmacy I'm supporting recently added a workstation and we completed a jobsheet and haven't heard back from Kroll service dept. In several days (imagine they're very busy). I don't see why we can't setup the workstation ourselves, but I can't find any information online on how to do so.
Using a combination of Group Policy and a Bat file I was able to script an install of the Kroll application onto local workstations, turning a long expansive process that required intervention by the Kroll support team into a 5 minute process that is 98% hands off with only the final step requiring IT intervention.
Using this process I locally installed the Kroll software onto all of the workstation PCs at our sites. This has the advantage of greatly improving performance over the standard Terminal Server hosted version and improving the workflow for staff by allowing Kroll to interact with items such as locally installed scanners for Patient document scanning and digital record keeping.
The Process I designed also includes some clever IT trickery to ensure that the local copies of the Kroll software stay up to date and in sync with the master copy installed on the SQL server when updates are applied
